The Ukrainian National Rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition took place from 28 February till 1 March 2020. This is the world’s largest and most prestigious moot court competition in which more than 600 universities participate world-wide.
This year marked the 25th Anniversary of Jessup in Ukraine and for the first time, the National Rounds took place in the premises of the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine.
This year more than 40 lawyers judged the National Rounds, including Harold Hongju Koh (Sterling Professor of International Law at Yale Law School, Legal Adviser to the U.S. Department of State in 2009-2013), Eka Tkeshelashvili (Head of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine, former Minister of Justice, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia) and Tinna Goletiani (Associate Professor of Public International Law at Ilia State University, Senior Project Manager of Support Group for Establishment of High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine).
The winner became the team from Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, which is now preparing to represent Ukraine during the International Rounds in Washington, D.C. on April 12-18.
