Legal Alert: Ukrainian Competition Authority Reports on Competition Obstacles in Banking Market

On October 22, 2020, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine issued a report On results of the research of the banking services market concerning competitive neutrality principle violations in the laws and regulations that enable only state-owned banks to provide banking services in certain segments of the banking market.

The Report contains analytical information on current legislation that precludes private sector banks from operating on several segments of the banking market and Committee’s analysis of the impact the relevant legislative provisions had on competition, as well as suggested recommendations.
